ACFO Donates $10,000 to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute

OTTAWA – The Association of Canadian Financial Officers presented a cheque for $10,000 to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute at the Heart Institute Telethon on February 16, 2008.
The donation was raised through ACFO’s 12th Annual Rick McCallum Memorial Golf Classic held in May 2007 and Vice-President John Leduc was pleased to make the presentation on behalf of our 3,600 members.

This charity golf event was first held in 1996, in memory of Rick McCallum, Vice President of the Association, who died of a heart attack. Since then, ACFO has raised close to $110,000 for the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and the Ottawa Heart Institute Alumni, including the $10,000 raised at last year’s tournament.

ACFO is proud to have made this donation to help Canada’s largest and foremost cardiovascular health centre. The Heart Institute’s dedication to the understanding, treating and preventing of heart disease is an inspiration to the many ACFO members, employees and sponsors without whom we could never
