Your ACFO negotiating team met with the employer to engage in exploratory discussions from August 9th through 12th.
The purpose of these negotiations was to see if a renewed collective agreement could be reached in advance of the expiry of the current agreement on November 6, 2011.
The negotiations were respectful and productive. The parties discussed many topics including severance, various forms of leave, salary and related direct compensation and term of the agreement but were unable to reach an agreement. Consequently ACFO filed notice to bargain for the next round of collective bargaining on Friday August 12, 2011.
In the next few weeks ACFO will call for bargaining proposals and volunteers to serve on the Collective Bargaining Committee.
