Pay Equity update: disclosure issues settled

Despite an order from the Public Service Labour Relations Board (PSLRB) requiring full disclosure by Treasury Board of all ACFO’s requests for outstanding evidentiary documents in June 2011, there have been ongoing challenges and delays related to the disclosure of these documents.

Therefore, a pre-hearing case conference was held on March 29, 2012 between ACFO, Treasury Board and the PSLRB to address these outstanding disclosure issues.

Following the case conference, all questions related to disclosure were resolved. The parties agreed that it will take approximately six months for Treasury Board to produce the data requested by ACFO.

Once the data has been analyzed, the parties will set a timetable to exchange expert reports, a further and detailed Statement of Particulars with witness lists and will-say statements, and hearing dates on the substantive pay equity case.

ACFO and TBS have therefore agreed to reconvene with the PSLRB adjudicator in November 2012 to set the timetable for implementing these next steps. We anticipate that the pay equity hearing itself will now be rescheduled to mid-year 2013.

We will continue to update you on further developments as they arise in this matter. In the meantime, please contact Labour Relations Advisor Vivian Gates at 613-728-0695 (ex. 226) or 1-877-728-0695, or email vgates@acfo-acaf.com  if you have any questions in relation to this case.
