Leave cash out update
As a result of ongoing negotiations with ACFO-ACAF, Treasury Board has agreed that public servants will not have their vacation, compensatory leave, lieu days, lieu hours or lay day leave cashed out automatically on March 31 this year. A moratorium on automatic leave cash out will be in effect until March 31, 2021.
Employees still have the right to request a cash out of their leave at any time, it just will not occur automatically. This agreement offers ACFO-ACAF members greater flexibility while easing the burden on the Phoenix payroll system.
