- About ACFO-ACAF
Since the rollout of the Phoenix pay system in 2016, the Office of the Chief Human Resources Officer (OCHRO) had agreed to suspend the automatic cash-out of vacation leave, compensatory leave, lieu days, lieu hours or lay day leave. However, the employer has announced that it intends to resume automatic cash-out as of March 31, 2022.
While public servants have the right to request a cash-out of their leave at any time, for the past several years, this did not occur automatically. This was done to offer ACFO-ACAF members more flexibility while lessening the burden on the Phoenix pay system, and in 2020, to also acknowledge the impact of COVID-19 on employees’ use of leave.
