ACFO-ACAF is seeking to fill the role of ACFO-ACAF Champion in multiple departments and regions. Champions are members that help make a difference by volunteering their time to build bridges between their union, their colleagues and their department.
With a small staff and more than 5,000 members, it’s hard for us at ACFO-ACAF to know exactly what’s going on in every department and every workplace, which is why the role of Champions is so critical. With a time commitment of your choice, you have the opportunity to share important information with your colleagues and ACFO-ACAF Labour Relations staff, participate in quarterly calls with other volunteers across the country and plenty more.
Lastly, many Champions have shared with us that participating in the program has helped them in their career through the ability to make connections with senior management, by becoming well-known in their department and by networking with ACFO-ACAF Champions in other departments and regions.
Note: While all Champions receive training for the role, unlike shop stewards, they do not handle any Labour Relations issues and act as a communications liaison only. If you have any questions about your collective agreement or your workplace rights, please contact labourrelations@acfo-acaf.com.
There are multiple regions and departments where we do not currently have representation or only one representative for a large department, which makes two-way communication of critical information of what’s going on between members and ACFO-ACAF much more difficult.
If you’re interested in taking on the role in one of the departments and regions below or in learning more about the program, please contact ldoty@acfo-acaf.com with your department and region.
Also, please note that we are currently seeking CT-IAU Champions for any department or region.
If your department and region is not listed above, good news! We currently have a volunteer in your department and region. However, you are welcome to contact ldoty@acfo-acaf.com to discuss the opportunity to serve as an additional volunteer in your department.
If you’re unfamiliar with your representative, you can view our list of nearly 100 volunteers here, which is updated regularly.
We encourage you the take the time to thank your Champion for volunteering their time to assist the CT Community.
