As we begin preparations for the inaugural round of collective bargaining for our House of Commons Finance members, we invite you to get involved in the process by helping to identify bargaining priorities and by joining the Collective Bargaining Committee.
Complete the priority survey
ACFO-ACAF members from the House of Commons Finance group are invited to complete our collective bargaining survey, which will help the negotiating team determine priorities for this round of bargaining and your first-ever collective agreement.
This survey is your opportunity to help shape our approach at the table. You’ll tell us what matters most to you and make suggestions for items to bring forward in bargaining. The member-led Collective Bargaining Committee (see below) will then use the results of this survey to inform our bargaining strategy. Every single submission will be reviewed by the Committee, so don’t miss your opportunity to provide your input!
The survey will also help ACFO-ACAF better understand this new group of members and therefore strengthen our ability to represent you at the bargaining table and in the future.
The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. A link to complete the survey was emailed to House of Commons members on Thursday, August 6, at 2:00 pm ET. If you didn’t receive the email, but wish to complete the survey, please reach out to communications@acfo-acaf.com.
The survey will close on Thursday, September 3, at 11:59 pm ET.
Join the Collective Bargaining Committee
We are also seeking volunteers to join the Collective Bargaining Committee as we prepare to negotiate your inaugural collective agreement.
As a member of this committee, you will help assemble a list of priorities for the bargaining round based on the member survey and work with ACFO-ACAF staff to conduct vital research. You’ll also have the chance to join the negotiating team or another working group that supports the bargaining process.
Participation is open to all members of the House of Commons Finance group represented by ACFO-ACAF. Additional information regarding meetings of the Collective Bargaining Committee will be shared with members once the committee has been established.

Upcoming town hall
Finally, ACFO-ACAF will be hosting an in-person town hall this fall, giving you an opportunity to meet members of our senior leadership team, Labour Relations Advisors, and other staff who are here to support you.
During the town hall, we’ll share insights about what you can expect throughout the bargaining process, highlight the services that are available to members, and answer any questions you might have about ACFO-ACAF.
Understanding that many of our members from the House of Commons work compressed or alternative schedules, we’ve decided to wait until the fall to maximize participation. Additional details will be shared in the coming weeks.
