- About ACFO-ACAF
The Association of Canadian Financial Officers (ACFO-ACAF) is North America’s largest union exclusively representing accountants, comptrollers, auditors and financial professionals. We are pleased to represent the more than 5,000 financial professionals employed in the Canadian federal public service and at NAV Canada.
ACFO-ACAF’s members are professionals working in fields such as resource management, accounting operations, policy advice, auditing, systems control and costing, two-thirds of whom have or are in pursuit of professional designations. As stewards of the public purse, our members are frequently called on to provide strategic financial insight.
ACFO-ACAF strives to reflect the professionalism of our members by providing labour relations representation focused on collaborative and pragmatic solutions to workplace conflicts.
On behalf of our members, we also advocate for strong, accountable financial management and comptrollership, quality public services, transparency in government and good stewardship of tax revenue. In support of this advocacy, we author reports and policy statements and regularly present before Parliamentary committees. We work with government, labour organizations and partners in civil society to find fair, practical solutions to fiscal and public policy challenges.
ACFO-ACAF is a registered non-profit corporation. Our bylaws can be found here.
