ACFO-ACAF EDIAR Learning Series: Workplace Rights and Responses to Domestic Violence

ACFO-ACAF is pleased to announce that the next session of our ongoing EDIAR Learning Series is taking place on Tuesday, December 2, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm ET. During the session, attendees will explore how domestic violence intersects with the workplace and what rights, protections and supports are available for those affected by domestic violence.
We’re hosting this session to coincide with the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence, occurring from November 25 to December 10. This campaign was launched in 1991 by the Women’s Global Leadership Institute to call out and speak up against gender-based violence and serves as an annual reminder to renew our commitment to ending violence against women, girls, and 2SLGBTQI+ communities.
The facilitators for this session are Harmy Mendoza and Priya Shastri from WomanACT, a charitable organization focused on advancing gender equity and addressing gender-based violence.
During the session, they’ll help attendees:
- Understand their rights and workplace protections related to domestic violence;
- Know what steps to take if you or a colleague is impacted; and
- Learn what support is available in the workplace and beyond.
The session will take place on Tuesday, December 2, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm ET via Zoom, rather than Microsoft Teams, to allow for live simultaneous interpretation. A recording of the session will be uploaded to the ACFO-ACAF member portal in the days following the event.
