CT Academy: Management Track

CT Academy programs offer participants the most immersive learning experience available to members of the CT Community. These multi-modal, multi-step learning journeys take a cohort of members through a series of courses, workshops and exercises geared to their specific stream of work or career stage, allowing for deep and meaningful learning experiences along with the opportunity to extend their professional networks.

The CT Academy: Management Track is for members who are new in supervisory roles or those about to take on such responsibilities. Typically, these are experienced CT-FIN or CT-IAU-02s or CT-EAV-04s, or they are newly-appointed CT-FIN or CT-IAU-03s or CT-EAV-05s.

Participants will take part in classroom courses, small-group discussions and self-directed exercises related to the following topics:

  • Communicating as a leader
  • Emotional intelligence for leaders
  • Ethical leadership
  • Leading for impact

Participants will also receive a personalized EQ for Leaders report and coaching session to highlight their emotional intelligence skills and areas for growth as they navigate the process of becoming a leader.

This term we will be offering:

  • Two standard delivery cohorts in English
  • One intensive delivery cohort in French

The classroom courses in the standard delivery cohorts take place in person and attendance at each session is required, so please confirm your availability before applying. The dates can be found here. There is no travel support available for standard delivery cohorts.

Participants in the French intensive cohort will need to be available to attend training onsite in Ottawa from August 24 through August 28. Travel support will be provided for up to six participants from outside the NCR for the intensive cohort only. Participants will also need to complete work and participate in online discussions before and after the training, though timing will be more flexible.

This training is also being allocated via random lottery so apply today! Applications close at 11:59pm ET on June 28

Eligibility

All programs being offered in the fall semester this year are open to all ACFO-ACAF public service members, with the restriction that only NCR members are eligible for the Regional Interchange and only regional members are eligible for the NCR Interchange.

For all programming allocated via the JCDP lottery, members are given an equal chance of being selected subject to the following conditions:

  • Members who received free training through the JCDP in the previous calendar year are deprioritized in the lottery. This doesn’t mean they can’t be selected, it only means that members who didn’t receive training at all will get first priority.
  • Members who have participated in an Interchange at any point, not just in the last year, will be given lowest priority for the interchange slots.
  • Members can only participate in the CT Academy: Management Track once.

If you have any questions about the JCDP, please contact jcdp@acfo-acaf.com.
