Following a decade of dedicated work and collaboration, the CT-FIN Joint Pay Equity Study between ACFO-ACAF and Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) has now completed. Overseen by a third party guided by objective evidence and data-driven analysis, the findings concluded that there is no gender-based pay gap between the CT-FIN group and male-predominant occupational groups performing work of equal value. Consequently, ACFO-ACAF will be withdrawing our pay equity complaint with the Federal Public Service Labour and Employment Board.
The joint study was commissioned in 2019 between ACFO-ACAF and TBS following the filing of our pay equity complaint in 2016. We are confident in the accuracy of the results and appreciate the employer’s commitment to completing the analysis in a fair and transparent manner.
We understand that some CT-FINs may find this outcome disappointing. It is important, however, to underscore that the study’s finding of a lack of systemic wage discrimination between CT-FINs and male-predominant groups is ultimately good news. It is also an affirmation that ten years of successful collective bargaining and negotiated wage adjustments on behalf of CT-FINs have resulted in pay equity.
We extend our sincere gratitude to our members for their continued support, patience, and engagement throughout this lengthy and complex process. You may rest assured that we have upheld our commitment to exhausting all avenues and recourse options, and that we will continue to fight for fairness, equity, and respect on behalf of the entire CT Community beyond the completion of this study.
