ACFO-ACAF wants to remind eligible members that the deadline to apply for the Early Retirement Incentive (ERI) program is this Friday, July 24.
The ERI program
The ERI program was introduced in Budget 2025 as a means of managing workforce reductions through attrition and voluntary departures as much as possible. The program allows eligible employees to retire with an immediate pension based on years of service, with no reduction for early retirement.
The employer reported that as of July 14, 8,590 applications had been submitted, of which 6,313 were confirmed to meet the eligibility criteria.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply to the ERI program, the employee must meet the eligibility parameters of one of the following two groups on the day after your last day of employment (no later than January 20, 2027):
- Group 1: You joined the public service pension plan on or before December 31, 2012, and
- are at least 50 years old;
