As you may have seen, Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) recently released the latest results of the Public Service Employee Survey (PSES), highlighting areas of strength and concern across federal departments. TBS also shared data specific to the CT Community with ACFO-ACAF, and over the past few weeks, our team has been analyzing this information to understand what has changed since the previous survey.

The data we’re sharing today focuses on one question from the PSES, “Q54: I would recommend my department or agency as a great place to work.” We closely examine this question each year because it offers valuable insight into which departments CT Community members enjoy working in.

The three departments that scored highest on this question were:

  1. Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (94 out of 100)
  2. Department of Justice Canada (94 out of 100)
  3. Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada (89 out of 100)

The three departments that scored lowest on this question were:

  1. Canadian Heritage (31 out of 100)
  2. Shared Services Canada (46 out of 100)
  3. Correctional Service Canada (51 out of 100)

In the linked document, you’ll find the complete ranking of all 25 departments whose data was shared with ACFO-ACAF. If your department isn’t listed, it’s because TBS determined that the response rate was too low to report results.

Over the next few weeks, ACFO-ACAF President Rob Hawkins will share these results with senior managers across various departments, commending those that ranked highly and advocating for improvements in departments that scored lower.    While this information can be helpful in guiding your career decisions, it’s important to remember that individual experiences may vary. When considering which department to work in, factors such as your direct supervisor and your team can also have a significant impact on your day-to-day experience.
