As part of its commitment to being a responsible contributor to society, ACFO was a sponsor of the Salvation Army 2011 Hope in the City Breakfast at the Ottawa Convention Center on November 17^th 2011. Hope in the City is an annual event that kicks off the Salvation Army’s fund-raising season.  As a leadership event, it brought together prominent business leaders, influential community members, foundation directors and political decision makers. Thanks to our Association’s Speaker sponsorship, attendees were treated to a keynote address from Senator Roméo Dallaire, former Canadian Armed Forces Lieutenant General and award-winning author.  Mr. Dallaire gave a presentation on the issues of leadership, teamwork, and ethics – three traits central to the role of today’s Finance Officers. ACFO’s donation on behalf of the FI Community helps ensure the Salvation Army can continue to provide much-needed support for 1.6 million vulnerable children and families in 400 communities across Canada every year.
