Workforce adjustment: Alternation List for opting employees

As you may know, ACFO-ACAF has prepared several resources for members to help prepare them for workforce adjustment (WFA) measures in the federal public service. This includes the ACFO-ACAF Alternation Network, a list of non-affected and opting/surplus employees who are interested in alternating, which can be found on the homepage of the my.ACFO-ACAF portal and is updated daily if changes apply.
Note that at present, while we have only been informed of CTs who have been made opting in three departments (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, Administrative Tribunals Support Service of Canada, and Courts Administration Service), our alternation list is currently only made up of non-affected employees interested in alternating out of the public service. Therefore, if you are an opting or surplus employee who has selected Option 6.4.1(a), we strongly recommend that you both consult and add your name to the ACFO-ACAF Alternation List so that your fellow members of the CT Community who are interested in and qualify for your position may contact you about alternation.
Please note that:
- ACFO-ACAF does not facilitate contact between employees – it is their responsibility to find a suitable alternation match who meets the qualifications of their position;
- Only opting and surplus employees having chosen Option 6.4.1(a) are eligible to alternate with a non-affected employee; and
- While management approval isn’t required to add your name to the Alternation Network, their approval is required for alternation.
Though the future of workforce adjustment in the federal public service remains unclear in the wake of a newly elected government and new mandate, rest assured that ACFO is actively advocating on behalf of the CT Community by engaging both directly with the government and through our key partners. We’re also ensuring that you’re equipped with the tools and knowledge needed to successfully navigate any workforce adjustment measures in your department.
