Over the past two weeks, ACFO-ACAF has focused on providing critical information and updates on how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting our community’s work and working conditions. We will continue to communicate this information as it becomes available, but today we also wanted to give you a brief update on ACFO-ACAF operations and events.

Teleworking to serve you

First, we want to note that while the ACFO-ACAF head office is closed, we remain available by both email and telephone as usual. Ensuring service to our members has always been ACFO-ACAF’s priority, which is why we invested in infrastructure to prevent service interruptions even when faced with challenging circumstances. Our entire team is hard at work at their home offices and are ready to answer your questions and address any issues you may be facing. If you have any workplace issues or concerns, please contact labourrelations@acfo-acaf.com as usual.

Events and training

We also wanted to announce that this year’s Spring Tune Up and Spring Tune Up Plus have been officially postponed. The events will now be held on October 27-28, 2020, at the EY Centre in Ottawa. If you have already registered for one or both events, your registrations remain in place and will be automatically transferred over. If for any reason you need to cancel, you can feel free to contact us at events@acfo-acaf.com. Cancellations will be accepted with a full refund as applicable up to one week before the event.

Additionally, we wanted to let you know ACFO-ACAF still expects to launch the 2020-21 Joint Career Development Program. We are hoping to announce this year’s program and open applications later this spring, but we will continue to take our cue from public health professionals and will monitor the situation as it unfolds.

Finally, ACFO-ACAF hosted out first Live Q&A webinar earlier this week. If you were not able to attend, you can watch the replay here.

Again, we want to thank our community for your patience and professionalism at this very challenging time. We know how difficult this has been and we want to assure you that you can continue to rely on ACFO-ACAF for workplace guidance and support, and for the high standard of service you have come to expect from us.
