ACFO-ACAF EDI Learning Series: Plain Language

ACFO-ACAF has scheduled the next session of our ongoing EDI Learning Series. This series of webinars provides ACFO-ACAF members with an opportunity to come together over the lunch hour and discuss topics related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

During this month’s session, we will be joined by Chris Coulter, Senior Communications Advisor at Transport Canada, to discuss the importance of using plain language in our written work. Whether you’re writing a detailed report or short email, plain language is a tool that we should all be using to ensure that our audience gets the most out of our work.

Attendees will learn about:

• What plain language is;
• The benefits of using plain language;
• 10 key tips that will improve your written work;
• Which jargony words to avoid; and
• How using bulleted lists can significantly improve readability.

This session will take place on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm ET. It will be hosted virtually on MS Teams.
