ACFO-ACAF has scheduled the next session of our ongoing EDI Learning Series. This series of online webinars provides ACFO-ACAF members with an opportunity to come together over the lunch hour and discuss topics related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

This session will cover Domestic Violence and the Workplace, and will take place on Monday, March 20, from 12:00 – 1:00 pm ET on Microsoft Teams. This session will be hosted by a Canadian Labour Congress facilitator, Helen Berry, who also works for ACFO-ACAF as a Human Rights and Pay Equity Specialist. The session will be held in English only and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Throughout this session, Helen will touch on multiple topics, including:

  • The impact that domestic violence can have on work performance;
  • Tips and strategies to help you recognize signs that someone in the workplace may be affected; and
  • The ways that you can provide support to those in need, or seek support if you are personally struggling.

ACFO-ACAF is hosting this session of the EDI Learning Series in light of International Women’s Day, which takes place annually on March 8. The majority of our members at ACFO-ACAF are women, and we’re especially mindful of issues that disproportionally affect women, trans and non-binary people. For more information regarding what ACFO-ACAF is doing to support women in the CT Community, you can visit this post on our website for International Women’s Day 2023.

We encourage all of our members to take the time to attend this workshop, as it will provide you with an opportunity to learn more about how domestic violence can impact the workplace, as well as how you can help a colleague who may be impacted.

There is no need to RSVP. Simply contact Andrew Kelly, at akelly@acfo-acaf.com, to receive the link that will grant you access to the seminar.

For any questions about the webinar, please contact Stéphanie Rochon Perras, Director of Job Evaluation and Equity, at srochon@acfo-acaf.com or 1-877-728-0695 ext. 235.

We look forward to hosting you at this EDI Learning Series session and hope you find it informative.
